Homebirth immersion weekend
Join us for 2 afternoons of ALL things homebirth! This unique childbirth class is geared towards homebirth families due this spring and summer.
We will meet from 2-5pm Saturday and Sunday.
Topics include:
What to expect AND how to cope with natural labor and birth, in all stages
Pushing, birth, and the perineum
The golden first hours postpartum
Breastfeeding & newborn basics
Postpartum self care
Participants will bring a yoga mat or blanket and an exercise ball if you have one. Please also bring snacks to share and a water bottle. Dress for moving around, we will be practicing!

Spring into Herbal Selfcare!
Spring is a time to be nourished by the rising energy of the Earth. Just as we awaken from our winter dreaming, many of our best wild weedy herbs also emerge, ready to harvest for food and medicine.
Join Herbalists Belinda Lashea, CNM and Bear Root Midwifery and Lea Clayton, LMBT, BCPP, & GreenHeart Healing Artsor a half-day plant exploration with our beloved wild plant allies of spring.
We will connect with and learn from our herbal allies through plant meditation, embodied movement exploration, class lecture, and hands-on medicine making in the RiverSong Farm herb garden. Attendees will make an herbal remedy to take home. Cost of materials is included in the registration fee.
Homebirth Bootcamp
Planning a homebirth? Join us for an afternoon of practical information and hands-on preparation for your labor and birth journey.
This one day workshop is designed for families planning a homebirth. Taught by seasoned homebirth attendants, this is an afternoon of wisdom-sharing you don't want to miss!

Preparation of the home for labor & birth; emergencies & transfer plans
Late pregnancy preparation and changes; recognizing labor
Early and active labor: what to expect, positions, breathing, and coping techniques
Pushing and birth: tear prevention, positions, waterbirth
Psycho-emotional and spiritual aspects of birth
Delayed cord-clamping and birth of the placenta
Early breastfeeding and the golden hour
The class includes a digital packet of helpful handouts and literature, as well as a resource list for local breastfeeding and postpartum support in the Wilmington area.
Participants should dress comfortably as we will be moving around and changing positions often. Bring a waterbottle and snacks, and if available, an exercise ball and yoga mat.
Fall into herbal selfcare
Autumn is a liminal time between the harsher seasons of summer and winter. It is a time of final harvest.

Wise Woman Herbal Workshop for midwives
This comprehensive workshop is suitable for practicing midwives, students, apprentices, aspiring midwives, and birth workers that want to begin incorporating herbal & homeopathic healing modalities into their practice. No experience with herbs is necessary, as this workshop caters to the beginner as well as to the midwife who is looking to add to her store of plant wisdom.
It is alot of material packed into a fun, hands-on day! Handouts for your practice and supplemental literature are provided. Tinctures & teas will be available for sampling and purchase at the workshop. The objective is for you to leave with the knowledge and materials to get started right away in making recommendations to your clients and also to engage in self care by nourishing your own body with herbal healing medicine.
This workshop covers:
Intro to herbs and homeopathy, similarities and differences, when to use, etc.
Reproductive tonics: Herbs for the Well Woman and Fertility
Herbs and alternative remedies in pregnancy by ailment:
Nausea

GI Issues (constipation, heartburn)

The cost for this workshop is $150 per person and includes 0.5 ACNM CEUs (5 contact hours). Scholarships are available for student midwives of color.
